Each student is required to choose a field of concentration as part of their  major curriculum, typically by fulfilling a minimum unit requirement and other curriculum-specific requirements within a specific department or school. Certain majors, like the interdisciplinary studies field major in the College of Letters & Science, may span multiple departments.
