Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) Research

Course Description

This course is a graduate-level introduction to HCI research. Students will learn to conductoriginal HCI research by reading and discussing research papers while collaborating on asemester-long research project. Each week the class will focus on a theme of HCI research andreview foundational and cutting-edge research relevant to that theme. The class will focus on thefollowing areas of HCI research: ubiquitous computing, social computing, critical theory, andhuman-AI interaction. In addition to these research topics the class will introduce commonqualitative and quantitative methodologies in HCI research.
